Transforming the Community
The community we belong to may be nothing special in our eyes, but the Co-founders of ARTA Architects, Tat Lai Wong and Arnold Wong, can bring awesome new things through just an installation. ARTA means "Art + Architecture", for they believe that architecture should be about both functionality and artistry.

The award-winning design, the Symphony of North Point, is an example of how an art installation can change the community. Though multi-generational, the old and young in North Point rarely communicate. The district is also where the city and nature meet, with sounds of humans, trees, and sea. Sound is thus selected as the medium to encourage communication. In making the large communication device, attention were paid to the needs of North Point people, "As they seldom talk with each other, the position of speakers were carefully arranged, so people do not physically face each other and feel embarrassed,", Tat-lai explains.

Architectures are Educational
Other than recreational, ARTA also tries to make their work educational. They once used 30,000 recycled bottle caps to produce an art installation, "As environmental problem is getting more serious, we hope to raise the awareness, especially of the younger generations,", said Arnold.
